Understanding Through COMMUNICATION Through its growing number of attractive, professional productions and publications in English and Spanish, the award winning Media Center strives to build public awareness of the problems, strengths and contributions of low-income and Hispanic older persons.
The Association created the Media Center with two important objectives. The first was to produce culturally sensitive materials suitable for use by poor, frequently monolingual Hispanic seniors. The second was to inform professionals, working in the field of aging, and the public at large about the needs and contributions of low-income older persons.
A wide variety of outreach and support materials including books and pamphlets, information packets, video and audio tape presentations, radio and television spots, and power point presentations are produced by the Media Center.
