Level II - Conservation Implementation Specialist

Location:  Concord and Durham, NH
Hourly Wage: $16.00     
Hours Per Week: 20
Temporary position for approximately 20 weeks

Qualifications

·         Must be 55 years of age or older

·         AA or Certificate

·         Minimum of 15 years experience in engineering design, construction, and certification in conservation planning, applying conservation practices and providing technical assistance to landowners and farmers.

·        Valid and current New Hampshire driver’s license

 

General Functions

·         The individual will oversee progress of conservation practices under construction, resolve minor problems and refer more difficult questions to higher grade technicians and engineers, and assist with conservation compliance status reviews.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·         Serves as rodperson, chainperson, or stakeperson in surveying for conservation practices utilized under Farm Bill programs.

·         Gathers and compiles planning data on rural acreage and community land sites including physical features for evaluation and development of natural resource conservation plans.

·         Explains or demonstrates to landowners or contractors methods of installing practices such as terraces, diversions, drainage ditches, ponds, etc.  

·         Primary; responsibility is to oversee progress of conservation practices under construction, resolve minor problems and refer more difficult questions to higher grade technicians and engineers. Assist with conservation compliance status reviews.
